John Wayne works in the government as a secret agent. He is assigned by his boss Colonel Peters to go under the radar and infiltrate a traveling medicine show to trace counterfeiters conducting their business on the border of Mexico and America. The show is run by Dr. Carter Earl Hodgins, who is recently out from jail for a ten-year sentence for counterfeiting. For Wyatt to get on the job, he first helps the Doc overcome a sheriff who has been chasing him because he tried to drink and smash a drugstore without paying for his stuff and then escaped from the town. Then, Wyatt proceeds to pull his wagon at his horse’s speed while crossing the Arizona-New Mexico state line until it breaks down. After this, Doc Carter gets Wyatt to perform a shooting trick with his daughter Linda, Marion Burns, who is fit to do the act. This is all part of a performance by Edwin and Lynne’s show band with the first act including Perry Murdock and Gordon Clifford. They sing “When We Were Young and Foolish” and “Snap Those Old Suspenders” while Carter sells his miracle drink in the next town over. What Carter does not know is that his former partner Curly Joe Gale, who played the large deceit, is running a counterfeit store on the Mexican side.
Finally, Joe backed up his threats. Joe’s Ride into Paradise: Joe kidnaps Carter and his daughter and holds them hostage in his need of Mexico. Carter’s suicide threat has turned grim. Joe now fears that Carter will come after him due to the frame job. Using the knowledge he gained while observing, John now knows who the real culprit is and goes after the gang with the help of the Mexican police.
Eliminate That Cattle Rustler is the epitome of a juvenile Western which offers little to no dialogue in favor of action sequences like Wayne diving from dangerous cliffs into the ocean, Gordon tackling horsemen by leaping from one horse to another, and a countless number of fist fights. This B Western Series is performed poorly even by the already low acting standards.
