Where Love Found Me is a stunning piece of cinematography. It eloquently tells the story of a filmmaker hoping to make it in Hollywood. In a quest to strike gold, Hudson starts living with a group of underprivileged children. Desperate for a hit piece, he is blindsided by an alluring young girl named Ruby who he falls victim to. The story at first appears to revolve around untouched loving kids, but slowly begins to touch upon darker themes.
There are moments of gruesome violence and despicable acts, but they are countered with hope and charm. The developing bonds between characters and their antics is heartwarming. With every passing second, it is crystal clear that there is an undertone of sacrifice in the storyline, but in the end, it points towards something much more redemptive. With every passing second, Where Love Found Me was able to evoke raw emotion.
Where Love Found Me, if you want to get invested into a movie rated highly (IMDb 8.8) with a satisfying storyline, it is PG-13, and so it is appropriate for all ages. This movie discusses the issues surrounding orphans today.
The film follows the distressing story of Hudson, a photo journalist chased by a detective in the Philippines, who plummets into the depths of humanity’s darkest truths. Although Hudson’s main goal is to carve a successful career for himself, in the end he puts his life in danger to save a small group of orphans and sheds light on the issues with child trafficking.
Instead of employing the typical finishing remark of ‘what happened afterwards,’ David, producer and director, filled in the gaps like a puzzle for me because the film, although anchored in reality, is much more historical fiction than a true docudrama. David’s parents adopted when he was older, and he was so inspired by the courage and happiness they had that he decided to open an orphanage in china.
David’s path took a turn to a ministry camp that seemed quite effective. David began a ministry called Bright Hope (Bring Me Hope.org). It has been able to engage positively with thousands of orphans from different parts of the world especially in China and has managed to assist some of them to get adopted in the United States. David says this movie was seven years in the makig. Like many of his other projects, it must have taken a while to coordinate with many people across the world. His goal is to inspire many people through this movie. Did you know there are over 150+ million orphans across the world? If you are blessed enough to have the means & desire to adopt, it is worth doing. If you are unsure where to start, I suggest the movie “Where Love Found Me” and if it resonates with you, then you might want to reach out to me. Investing time into spreading God’s love is a worthwhile endeavor.
