HEARTS & VINES is a romantic movie on Pure Flix. The plot focuses on Hannah and Cash, two hosts of a television show about home renovations. After losing their crew and finding themselves in a very remote part of Upstate New York, Hannah and Cash are left to film a Christmas special using just their smartphones. While they are stuck, Cash and Hannah try to get sponsors to provide Christmas supplies and decoration, as well as renovation materials for the episode. HEARTS & VINES also has some good moments that are funny. Also, the female lead is not too bad and develops over the length of the movie. However, the production quality and storyline is pretty bland. HEARTS & VINES is lightly moralistic and has some Romance themes that border on being too unrealistic. The film is based on a man’s wish to assist his friend in overcoming a difficult predicament. HEARTS & VINES as well contains some forms of rudeness and self-serving behavior which is in the end dismissed. On the positive side, it shows some carolers singing, “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” HEARTS & VINES is a good family movie that has children friendly content.
HEARTS & VINES is an romantic drama available for streaming on Pure Flix that follows the journey of a builder/ decorator of a winter home renovation show filmed in upstate New York. Due to being bundled up in a remote area without a crew, the main character struggles to complete a Christmas episode. While HEARTS & VINES should have greater production quality, its warm moral outlook with a hint of Christian romance from “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” is missing something.
The movie opens with old college friends Hannah and Cash, who are currently filming an episode of their home renovation reality show DESTINATION RENOVATION, about 15 miles away from the Niagara Falls, in upstate New York. Hannah has become a diva who is unbearable to work with and is causing issues on the set. Cash maintains that Hannah has changed for the worse since signing with an agent, who recently encouraged her to start taken first class flights rather than traveling with the rest of the team.
Hannah’s originally flu like symptoms turned out to be something else entirely, putting the cast and crew into a mandatory two week quarantine.
Cash and Hannah are left at the property for two weeks while they film and both of them are tense. To make things worse, Christmas is coming up and Cash’s father bought him a plane ticket to go home. Hannah tells Cash that her agent’s contract says he controls all her money which explains her sudden entitlement and change in attitude.
Mitch, the showrunner, is the one Cash opens up to regarding Hannah’s troubling situation. Luckily for him, Mitch also has an idea that you could say is bright. “What if we did a Christmas episode and filmed it on our phones?”
Hannah and Cash have to go find sponsors that will be willing to donate renovation supplies and Christmas decorations for the episode. Can they level the challenge with the time constraint and lack of resources?
HEARTS & VINES is your classic movie that can be enjoyed from beginning to end without paying attention to any of the plot details. Furthermore, the production quality is subpar. However, some fans who love this genre might find the movie endearing and sweet. The dialogue does have some funny scenes that add to the charm in the movie and the female lead’s character development is quite good.
Based on the information provided, HEARTS & VINES offers a simplistic approach to morality, along with some overly Romantic elements. Passion’s plot is about a man trying to assist his friend who is caught in a dilemma. There are HEARTS & VINES rude behavior and egoistic tendencies, but that too is countered in the end. Nevertheless, it shows some carolers singing “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” For families that have kids, HEARTS & VINES is an acceptable and wholesome movie.
