Dragon Walks Into a Bar: On his way from Seatlle to Mexico, Jim Trudell looks for hotels while stopping at a biker bar in Southern California, only to have his assumptions about the bar put to the test. The bar’s line put ‘The Dragon’ in a awkward position when a couple of bikers mention a $50 cover charge. Rather than comply, Jim thrashed the bikers and proceeded to enter without paying.
As he enters the establishment, Trudell is already seated at the bar next to a beautiful lady called Stephanie Williams, effortlessly beautiful and charming, portrayed by Jillian McWhirter, Rage. The two engage in idle talk when two wannabe tough men, who had previously confronted Trudell outside the bar, drag their carcasses into the place and begin to harass Stephanie. This thing always leads to some form of bar brawl with Trudell once again beating some biker’s ass. Trudell and Stephanie go outside, quickly realizing that randomly picking this biker bar in the middle of nowhere was not the smartest idea to grab a drink. They are on verge of parting different ways when Stephanie inquires what Trudell’s destination is, she then proceeds to tell him an elaborate fabricated tale of a fight with her abusive boyfriend and begs if she could come with him to Mexico.
Dragon P.I.: Trudell and Stephanie arrive at a motel for the night with plans of heading to Mexico the following day. The two don’t engage in any sexual activity but Trudell does appear to enjoy Stephanie as she changes into her underwear. The next day, Trudell learns that Stephanie has mysteriously disappeared. Also missing are his car keys which have been replaced by what looks like BMW keys. Trudell gets dropped off at the biker bar where he finds Stephanie’s motorcycle BMW, so he decides to head over to grab her. He comes across her car registration in the glove compartment so now he decides to do some personal detective work by checking the address that the car is registered under. Upon reaching there, Trudell gets cornered by some of Stephanie’s inquisitive neighbors. After managing to get inside the house, which is clearly ransacked, he is blindsided by a man in sunglasses. He tries to kill Trudell so he aggressively fights back and in the process knocks off the man’s sunglasses. Surprisingly, he ends up killing the off duty police officer.
In Dragon on the Run – Marvosa had captured Trudell using handcuffs… Which did not prevent Trudell from leaving the bad scenario he found himself in. In the end, Stanton dies in an attempt to kill Trudell, and in the aftermath, Trudell is the one left without a trace. Marvosa creates some silly allegation that Trudell was able to break free from the handcuffs while they were traveling in the car, but this only leads Captain Doyle to question Marvosa on why he never called for any backup, leading to him reprimanding Marvosa on his sloppy actions. In the very end, however, Captain Doyle declares that he wants the “two-time cop killer” Trudell back into lockup immediately and in that moment, `we’ve got ourselves a man hunt!’
The remaining sections of the film are as you may probably expect, with Trudell making all efforts so that he is always one step ahead of both cops, both dirty and clean. Among many, there are the common features of Trudell having a hacker friend that always helps him out as well as the FBI’s involvement into Captain Doyle’s jurisdiction. Trudell reuniting with Stephanie is all but guaranteed, and when we get to see the contents of the videotape, we finally gain some insight into why Marvosa was so frantic to obtain it.
