The recently released ‘Slapped Straight’ has garnered much attention as now Slap Fighting has its own fully dedicated movie.
Filming, writing, editing and even the prmotional activities have all been catered to by the film production company Luminary Figure Group that is led by David O. Anderson along with Raynel T. Almonte, and surprisingly, all of this was done in almost one year.
America is a well developed country and as expected, the filmmakers started working in unity at their shoutering houses ComposedIMAGE and FrameArt Pictures and called the collective Luminary Figures Group in 2021, or LFG for short. They indeed do everything, which includes the writing, filmography, directorship, and editing, and it is not surprising because they have local talent from Buffalo, New York and their twin city Niagara Falls who ensure quality work is done.
At the moment, the company is busy with other projects which includes working on 4 short films and 1 series, so these other endeavors are still under post production. But for now Slapped Straight is the first and best feature length production they have managed to do.
The film was released in April 2023, and out of excitement for the release, the company even decided to have a red carpet premiere at the Capitol Theatre in Niagara Falls, New York. Much to their delight, the premiere was a hit amongst the audience who applauded the film endlessly.
Initially, the idea for this masterpiece came to Anderson and Almonte when they were shooting for the promotion of their series ‘Unusual Attraction’ and out of spontaneous humor Raynel suggested David to slap him on camera.
This is the place where the project ‘Slapped Straight’ was kickstarted.
Feeding off the abundance and energy that surrounds hip hop, work was started in April 2022 and lasted for five months. To ensure that the breathtaking Scandinavian scenery was captured, The Luminary Brothers were cautious to focus on the Buffalo region. It was one of the cities that where the film was shot.
